Bettina Schwarz is a passionate self-taught photographer whose professional and personal life experience has been varied and rich.
The first 7 years of her life played out in Berlin, followed by 23 years of living, studying and working in various parts of South Africa. Although her first field of study was psychology, Bettina took part-time work in the retail environment for several years, then worked in banking, and then proceeded to build a successful career in personal, SME and farming insurance. Bettina then made a bold move to London and in her 4,5 years there she busied herself with providing financial failure protection solutions to tour operators, all the while pursuing her interests in photography, developing her own unique vision and style. For an opportunity to further broaden her horizons and give full-time focus to photography, Bettina chose to become a photographer aboard 5 star cruise ships and for over 2 years now Bettina has been travelling the world, creating stunning images of people and places alike.
Not classically religious, but deeply spiritual, Bettina still has a keen interest in psychology, particularly in what motivates people and their responses. This interest in people and culture makes Bettina an open-minded traveller through the world and life. Her deep connection to and love of nature lets Bettina value all things "green", environmentally friendly and eco-conscious. Natural and alternative remedies and products, outdoor activity, healthy living and lifestyle, individual creativity, social responsibility and sustainability are all building blocks to Bettina's ideal view of a holistic and respectful approach to life and all within it.
Bettina still spends several months at a time leading her photographic teams on board 5 star cruise ships, coaching and empowering young professional photographers, ensuring optimal use of imaging opportunity, the delivery of a satisfying customer focused service and consistently high quality imaging products. When not contracted to cruise ships, Bettina can be found where ever in the world the magnetic call of family, friends, adventure, imaging and/or business opportunity may have drawn her!
